‘icon’ is a contemporary variation of the horgenglarus ‘classic’, the archetype of the traditional wooden chair that they have produced since 1918. Both the seat frame that tapers slightly forwards and the dynamic radius of the back legs lend icon balanced proportions. The three dimensional seat and the rounding of the inside of the seat back make it a chair on which one can comfortably sit for a long time. With subtle developments Studio Hannes Wettstein has managed to make icon a timeless design of formal grace and significant comfort.
