STUDIO HANNES WETTSTEIN
The company called ‘Studio Hannes Wettstein’ was founded in 2001 by Hannes Wettstein, one of the most influential Swiss designers. After Wettstein’s death in 2008 the studio name changed from ‘Hannes Wettstein’ to ‘Studio Hannes Wettstein’ and his work was continued by several creative workers. Between 2008 and 2014 Simon Husslein shaped the work of Studio Hannes Wettstein as Creative Director and member of the board. In 2015 he founded Atelier Simon Husslein. The company known as ‘Studio Hannes Wettstein’ was renamed again in 2016.

HANNES WETTSTEIN (1958-2008)
Hannes Wettstein was one of the most influential designers of his generation. Born in 1958 in Ascona, he graduated as an architectural draughtsman and then guided his own further studies as designer and
architect. Driven by a passion for art and technology and from his impulse to investigate and improve the
things around him, he would develop more than 300 works of design in the years that followed. These
included furnishings, lighting, watches, industrial products and architectural projects for international clients and brands. In 2008 Hannes Wettstein died in Zurich at the age of 50.
